Looking After Cloths Used for Detailing

Microfibre Reviver is a detergent cleaner that has been uniquely designed to suit the requirements of your microfibre cloths. It will consistently revive your microfibre cloths, towels and wash mitts to like-new condition time and time again.

Microfiber Reviver

Maintaining your microfiber cloths is essential for ensuring they perform at their best. Below are some recommendations on how to properly clean microfiber cloths. It’s important to wash cloths used for different cleaning jobs separately to avoid cross-contamination.

Glass Cloths

Glass cloths should always be washed separately to prevent them from picking up silicone, waxes, or embedded dirt from other cloths. You can add your drying towels to this wash as well. However, it’s crucial that both glass cloths and drying towels are only used on fully rinsed surfaces, especially when using products like wet coats or snow sealants. These products repel water, and you don’t want to accidentally make your drying towels water-repellent or leave any silicone residue on your glass cloths.

Advanced Microfiber Cloths

Advanced microfiber cloths need to stay soft and clean for optimal performance. Therefore, it’s important to wash them separately to prevent contamination from waxes or sealants used on other cloths. If these cloths start to feel rough, it’s a good idea to downgrade them for dirtier cleaning tasks like wheels or other heavily soiled areas.

Multi-Purpose Cloths

Multi-purpose cloths should also be washed separately. Any cloths that have been downgraded can be added to this wash. If you have cloths that are heavily soiled or saturated, consider using extra detergent. Pre-soaking particularly oily or dirty cloths with a product like our Classic Carpet Cleaner can help. Simply spray it on the cloth before adding it to the washing machine. This pre-treatment will help remove oils and silicone, leaving your cloths much cleaner.
